Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is undoubtedly one of the most superb monuments of all time, and is an iconic symbol for New York City. I have wanted to paint the Statue of Liberty for as long as I can remember, and now I am focusing on painting landscapes, it was the perfect time to finally do it.

I found a suitable image through Unsplash (free to use under Creative Commons) and made it my own. I edited the image in Photoshop by adding a pastel gradient map. Happy with my reference image, I drew the figure lightly using pencils and painted the entire canvas in watercolours.

I haven’t been to New York yet, but it is definitely on my bucket list. I can’t wait to see the real Statue of Liberty in person!

Let me know your thoughts
