While in Rome in early 2019, I used some of my spare time to sketch the Colosseum. I had visited the Colosseum earlier that day, and was inspired by its magnificent beauty and history. I don’t usually draw quick sketches from a picture taken on my phone, so this was a new and welcome art experience for me.

Often, I plan, and spend long periods of time on drawings or paintings, but considering how happy I was with the finished sketch below, drawing quick sketches will become a more regular occurrence. So now, when preparing for a flight, I always ensure to pack a sketch pad, some pencils, an eraser and my mini watercolour set! 🙂
