After a recent trip to South Africa in April 2018, I wanted to paint something inspired by the experience. My favourite part of the trip was visiting Cape Town, so I decided to paint the colourful houses dotted around different parts of the city.
However, I wanted to make this Cape Town painting a little different, as opposed to simply finding a photograph or picture that inspires me; I really wanted to make my painting original.
After much research, I found the perfect photo, then worked my Photoshop magic; I placed the image in a circle and added some text underneath for a simultaneous logo and painting effect. Below is my finished product after adding in some more quirks.

To complete this painting, I used Marie’s watercolour paints and Graduate paintbrushes on Gallery watercolour paper. I’m happy with the finished result, but I prefer my full length A4 paintings. I’m thinking of painting Amsterdam next, what do you think?
